Day 3 of this movement we posted a note that we already had 211 fans. It is now day 18 of our abolish poverty movement, and we have 411 fans -first thanks to all of you who have out of your generosity and have invited your friends to this movement.

Please do not give up on the people you know who have not joined yet. People get busy and sometimes email invites get over looked. If we push hard we can get to the 10,000 fans at the 3 month mark. This would mean me being in a position to approach companies for $10,000 towards abolishing poverty, and potentially 10,000 lives impacted for the better.

And what’s more, given that we all would have effectively contributed to that reality, we would all get to choose the cause to whom this money is given. What a fantastic achievement – a collective movement for all of us to be proud of.

Enough said, we reached 211 fans in 3 days, 411 fans in 18 days, lets throw some gas on that fire and get us up to 1000 fans by the end of this week!

Hey You!

Yes you…

Remember me?  I didn’t think so…  well I remember you and I miss you.  I am wondering what happened to you?  Last week you fired Joe and told him not to take it personally it’s just business.  What is your deal?  That is personal!  He has 4 kids and a wife that is pregnant, Joe was the hardest working guy on the team, but your boss’s lazy son couldn’t be the one to go that might cause to much conflict.

Where did you go?  You are not like I remember!  Yesterday as you were walking to your car you saw a ball, red, round and asking for you to kick it, you wanted to kick it… but you didn’t.  The you I remember, would have ran up and kicked the ball so hard…  Not you (the new you)!  You in your 3 piece suit, so damn serious all the time.

Why don’t you smile anymore?  Did you forget how?  Did you forget that even a little smile can brighten a day?

When did you forget that the world is your playground and so much is at your hands to experience.

I used to know you!  The you who would asked why all the time…  Now you take it as is.  You get frustrated when your kids ask why, want to color, or simply be around you.  You tell them you are tired yet you rush to go to the bar after work.

I am confused… you loved life but now when your wife cries you say she needs appeasing, you tell her she is sensitive and to act like an adult.  I remember when you wanted so bad to be an adult, you would to swear to never be like how you are right now.

Am I coming to your memory yet?  Are you so far away from me you will never see me again?

Just writing a note to let you know I miss you…

My Social Theory

two speech balloons, one with an a questionmar...
Image via Wikipedia

I came across a cool site today for twitter.  For all of you that like to answer questions this is for you TwitAnswers as I was browsing around I came onto a question by @lrivets.

QUESTION: My instructor posted the following question: How does the law maintain stability in our social, political and economi …

MY ANSWER: because people need to be told their boundaries and those who don’t need to be punished…You could say social theory: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_theory

Prevention of actions that will later “impact the victim in THEORY this will predict the way they contribute to society”

There will always be a need for law and enforcement in my opinion until people start to act as a whole “community” and develop, giveback and do not tolerate acts of rage, malice, violence, and gaining from another loss. The closer we will get to have a decline in violent acts, sexual abuse, emotional/behavior issues, depression, anxiety, hunger, debt, et al.

Why is it as a society why aren’t we more aware of others?  Why is it okay for someone to impose harm or malice?  The only answer is acceptance we are selfish and what is out of sight is out of mind.  It is alright for us to watch the news and hear about the troubles of the world and we can say how terrible it is…but after those words leave our lips we accept it.  How many people do you know see a need for action research it and wee how they can help?

From what I see people are naturally “good” people but need direction in developing their role in society or “finding their purpose”.  I wonder where we would be as a society if we helped develop each others strengths?

In reality it would not take  much to make an effort and seek out something to contribute:

  • Engagement with a stranger: with a goal set to find a way you could help them
  • Give honest and fair insight to someones problem with the intent to help them solve the issue
    • (Why do we feel the need to tell someone something they are doing wrong and not have a plan to help them solve that issue?  Why bring it up if you do not have a solution-goes back to developing strength)
  • Start a thoughtless fund- taking the extra change that falls beneath the cushions, under your seat in the car, you find on the road and give it to someone
  • Buy the person behind you (if you have the means) their purchase this usually would pertain to a gas station, coffee house, candy bar etc…

What is your opinion?  Why do you think we have a “survival of the fittest” outlook, when we are educated about this and know it is an instinct?  Are we not as smart as we think when we know all about this, but do nothing to fix our known faults?

Retail, my first job memory…

I was 14 years and 10 months old and wanted a job so bad… So I lied and said I was 15.

I worked at the Sawgrass Mills Outlet Mall, in Sunrise FL. At an outlet store called VF Factory Outlet. Looking back it was such an easy job, but I think I should have enjoyed my childhood more and focused more on school.

Funny how you remember the strangest things… I remember people visiting from Europe and buying like 60 pairs of jeans… How did they get them back home??

Everything I do I do with passion, so to start…

I wake up and take care of my children because they are my #1 priority!! I am absolutely passionate when it comes to helping people better themselves and create the life they have always dreamed of.

I love helping people, am creative and insightful. I want to provide a kind of training that will last a life time for these students and professionals young and old. I’ve met so many people who have invested a lot of time and money in getting trained and then find that they don’t know how to market themselves correctly.

I help Professionals by teaching them how the hiring process really works, utilize keywords for optimal visibility of their resumes, how to promote themselves utilizing social networks like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and more.

Are we ever going to end ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan?

“On March 31, 2005 the United Nations Security Council made its first ever referral of a situation to the International Criminal Court (ICC) for investigation–the situation in Darfur. The court issued its first two warrants in April 2007, for government minister Ahmad Harun and Janjaweed leader Ali Kushayb, for their leading roles in a series of attacks against civilians in West Darfur in 2003 and 2004. However, Sudanese authorities have from the start refused to cooperate with the ICC, and have refused to arrest and hand over the two suspects. Instead Ahmad Harun has been promoted to State Minister for Humanitarian Affairs.

On July 14, 2008 the ICC prosecutor announced he was seeking a third warrant, this time for Sudanese President Omar al Bashir, on 10 counts of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. This time, rather than simply dismissing the ICC, the Sudanese government launched a major diplomatic campaign to convince the Security Council to defer the investigation. Under article 16 of the Rome Statute of the ICC, the United Nations Security Council is empowered, by way of a resolution, to grant such a suspension for up to a year at a time.

Since the request, the government of Sudan has spent considerable time and energy attempting to convince the international community of its willingness to cooperate on justice and to achieve peace in Darfur, and claiming that the situation there has improved, in the hopes of securing a suspension of the case. However, the government’s actions on the ground reveal a very different reality for the people of Darfur.

This report focuses on four dimensions of the crisis in Darfur: continuing insecurity for civilians, the humanitarian situation, justice and accountability and deployment of the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur (UNAMID). The report highlights the distance between the government of Sudan’s rhetoric and the reality in each of these areas.” Full Report http://www.savedarfur.org/page/-/PDFs/Rhetoric_Vs_Reality_Paper_Eng.pdf
